In my spare time I run a traditional music workshop once a month which attracts between 15 and 20 people. I teach techniques and tunes and lead group playing. It's run in Sturminster Marshall and is called the Old School Session because it's run in the old school house there (by the Red Lion pub). I also maintain the website and the facebook page.

In my work as a developer, I take the opportunity to spread any knowledge I have to colleagues as a knowledgeable team is a good team! I am pretty patient which makes a good mentor. Here's a presentation I gave about RDF made with Hovercraft (parts of it ran a local shell, so will show up as empty boxes).

In my research work at University of Southampton I necessarily did a few teaching assignments (I was not a lecturer, but I did some mentoring and workshops). I regularly presented work at meetings and conferences which require a good understanding of preparing appropriate material, interesting presenting and public speaking. I am pretty good at making slides in Powerpoint and have recently been trying new presentation techniques like using OpenIMAJ or Hovercraft.

I have completed my City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Delivering Learning which required small teaching assignments. One of my most interesting teaching assignments was my decision to teach the basics of salsa dancing!
