After our ship was unable to berth in Livorno, we made
our way to La Spezia. Although this is slightly further
from Elba than Livorno, the ship still sailed a large
rectangular course throughout the night so that it didn't
arrive early. The bus tour from La Spezia took almost an hour
longer, so we were up very early to catch the bus to Florence.
It was hot in Florence and we toured the sites. The tour "at your own pace"
meant we could stop and have a pizza opposite the Pitti Palace.
It was late when we got back to the tender at 7, and the ship sailed
around 8pm. |
