Decorating Master Bedroom

Photos from the 3 months we spent redecorating our master bedroom. It may sound a long time, but it involved stripping all the wall and ceiling paper, some underlying old paint, channelling the wall, and fitting new electrics, moving the light to the centre of the room, filling and replastering a couple of the walls, repapering the ceiling, before eventually repainting, and fitting the carpet. We did this in our spare time, with the help of my Dad.

All kitted out in old clothes, ready for destruction

Many hands make light(er) work

Furniture shuffled to the middle, the walls bare

Vacuuming up some mess - don't use a Dyson for plaster dust like we did!

Stripping a long piece of ceiling paper using the steamer

At last, the undercoat is on the wall and the ceiling paper up

But which colour do we paint the room?

We chose buttermilk, and here's Caroline getting down to it

And here's me rollering the walls

Carpet fitted, we reassemble the furniture

Caroline tries our inherited curtains for size

At last! It's just about done.

Just a few electrics left to do
